Hey, I’m Umar. I’m exploring what to build next.

I’m a machine learning engineer who’s built real products, led teams, and spent years solving real-world problems with AI. I’m now looking to channel that experience into creating something new, something exciting and useful.

I care about using AI in ways that are thoughtful, not gimmicky. I’m drawn to tools that make people’s lives easier, help communities thrive, or turn friction into flow. I’m especially interested in blending technical depth with human-centered design. The kind of products that quietly make life better.

I’ve built:

• ML systems that power real-world products
• AI assistants that reduce support hours (like Scai, the one running this site)
• ML tools for performance analysis, motion tracking, and health metrics
• Apps (in progress) to manage social sports communities with less headache and more fun
• Solutions that are both enterprise and customer-facing, always thinking about how real people interact with the things we build
